MEEOW Ltd (“MEEOW”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is the controller of the personal data (“Data”) that MEEOW processes. At MEEOW, we take your privacy very seriously and ensure that all applicable data privacy regulations are observed. In this section, you can learn about how we process your Data when you use www.meeow.co (“Site”), the MEEOW platform (“Platform”), or MEEOW’s services (“Services”).

About MEEOW

MEEOW provides on-demand, online networking, bringing together four businesspeople to video network from the comfort and convenience of their homes or offices. With MEEOW’s business community helping to build worthwhile connections, Meeowists save time and money, on making money.

Categories of Personal Data

When using our Site, the categories of Data about users that we may process include:

  • Name
  • Address
  • E-mail address
  • Telephone number

Furthermore, we may also process:

  • Feedback submissions
  • Support submissions
  • Cookie and marketing preferences

When using our Platform or Services, the categories of Data about users that we may process include all of the above, in addition to:

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Occupation
  • Payment information
  • Location

This Data is collected when you register for our Platform, book our Services, opt-in to cookies, opt-in to receiving marketing material from us, from public records, and through direct correspondence between MEEOW and yourself.

Purpose

MEEOW processes your Data in order to be able to provide to you in completion our Services in accordance with your wishes, to improve our Services, to communicate with you, to screen for potential risk or fraud, and, when in line with the preferences that you have indicated, to provide you with advertisement or promotional material.

Data Retention

Unless required by law, Data is retained for up to 12 months after your last interaction with MEEOW, after which it is erased or anonymised. Interaction with MEEOW includes, for example, using our Platform or Services, or opening marketing communications from us.

Employment Applications

For both published vacancies and open applications, our hiring process may involve the processing of the following categories of Data of our applicants: name; address; e-mail address; telephone number; government-issued identification; references and CVs. This Data is retained for up to 24 months after the application date, or for as long as we have a legitimate business need for it. This Data is collected from public records, third-party recommendations and referrals, and through direct correspondence between MEEOW and yourself.

Third Parties and Countries

MEEOW may share your Data with affiliated companies with which MEEOW has partnered in order to provide to you a greater set of Services, and with trusted third-party service providers as necessary for them to perform services on our behalf, such as:

  • Cloud data storage
  • Processing payments
  • Video and transcription software
  • Booking software
  • Cybersecurity
  • Market research
  • Serving advertisements
  • Conducting surveys
  • Communicating with you, such as by way of email or survey delivery
  • Legal consultancy
  • Customer relationship management, including social media
  • Support and related services

When MEEOW transfers Data outside of the UK, we check that the third country meets the requirements of applicable data privacy legislation and make the necessary contractual arrangements to ensure third-party compliance. MEEOW does not sell your personal data.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that the website you are visiting requests to save on your device. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as provide information to the owners of the site.

MEEOW uses both session cookies (stored temporarily, only while you are browsing a page) and persistent cookies (stored for longer periods, up to 12 months). Our functional cookies allow you to effectively and comfortably navigate our Site and Platform, performing functions such as keeping track of the language that you have chosen. Our marketing cookies provide us with insight into, for example, our users’ navigational habits, and other analytical data, which helps us to improve our Services.

Your consent is required in order for MEEOW to collect cookies; you can at any time revoke your consent by adjusting your browser’s cookie history or contacting us at info@meeow.co. Only cookies that are required for the overall function of the Site and Platform (essential cookies) cannot be disabled. Every 12 months, we will ask for you to reaffirm your consent of our cookie collection.

Our third-party booking software, Calendly LLC, also uses both session and persistent cookies in the delivery of their service and requires your consent in order to collect this information – you can access their Privacy Policy Notice on their website, linked here.

Cybersecurity

MEEOW protects your Data using technical and organisational security measures. In order to prevent unauthorised access and ensure data accuracy, we have implemented strict guidelines for the organisation regarding the processing of personal data. To that end, all sensitive personal information is transmitted through secure networks, and credit card numbers are not stored or held on our servers.

Your Rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the right to transparency in how your Data is processed. This means that you can at any time:

  • Request an extract of what Data we process about you,
  • Request that we correct any Data that is incorrect,
  • Request that we erase your Data,
  • Request that we limit how your Data is used,
  • Object to the processing of your Data that we deem legitimate,
  • Request to have your Data transferred from MEEOW’s system to another body, i.e. data portability, and
  • Revoke previously granted consent to any of our personal data processes.
